I am planning to buy used toyota celica, is it true that tax and insurance would be high for that model?

A) insurance depends on a number of important factors: type of insurance req'd, type of vehicle, value of vehicle, age of driver, location of where car will be (city verses small town), number of named drivers, and amount of deductable. Suggest you get on web and find an insurance site that quotes premiums.

There is alot of different things dealing with insurance, only a insurance agent from your state could tell you. 1] each state has their own set of laws 2] each state has their own limits of liability that you have to carry so that makes your price either go up or down from state to state 3] have you been covered under your parents policy 4] who's name is going be on the title 5] did you have driver's ed in school or from a private school 6] the good grades do count with some companies, you will need a copy of your latest report card, or they will have a form for the school to fill out. 7] the type of car that you get, make-model- 2 or 4 doors 8] what kind of coverage you will be needing, if you are going to be paying notes on the car--they will want you to have comprehensive and collision coverage on the car(which will be high for a 16 year old no matter what state 9] if you are a boy or a girl (boys are higher) 10] tickets and accidents make the cost go up 11] what kind of job you have, if you are going to be using the car to deliver pizza-it needs to be a commerical policy-more money-than say you work at a store or factory If you were in my state just for liability -just what the law requires-it would run about $100 a month. Q) I'm going to community college soon, and i'm saving alot of money for a used car. I'm a teenager, and my parents don't have the kind of money for car insurance. As a matter of fact, they won't let me use any of their SUV's or 2000 cars, because of the car insurance. I'm a high school junior, so i'm going to college in about two years from now. Community College is a home commuting school, so unfortunately, i would have to drive to school and back home. What sports cars can I have/insure?

Q) I'm 20 years old living in the UK. I currently drive a 1.6 Hyundai Coupe but I'm looking to get something else, still sporty. I have 3 years no-claims bonus to my name. I looked at Toyota Celicas, these seem to be OK on insurance if I go under my Dad's policy but they wont touch me under my own name. I was really interested in getting a Mitsubishi FTO, but there's no chance of insuring that even under my Dad's policy with Direct Line which is a shame because they are great cars! If anyone is in a similar situation and has overcome it some how then I want to hear from you. What cars and insurers are all the young guys in sports cars using? You see 17 year-olds in Scoobys -- how is this possible?? I have a bunch of money saved up so no solution is out of the question. Thanks!

A) Not sure in uk but in canada shop around there are hundreds of insurance companies. Your probably gonna pay huge for it though be prepared. Another suggestion is wait until you see someone driving a sports car and go up and ask them where they get there insurance. Just a thought

However, I found the price range is very wide. I am so confused and don't know how much is a reasonable price I should ask for. I took to dealer and they said it is a 10 year car and basically they don't buy car that old. It's a very nice car and in very good shape. I really hate to sell at "cash for car" place. Anyone can give me some suggestion? Is posting on newspaper effective? I checked craigslist but there are tons of car posted there everyday. The ad got swamped in a second. If I plan to pay some listing fee, which website you would suggest? I am not in a rush for cash but the insurance is about to expire and if I keep the car for long I will just have to keep paying insurance bill. If you were me, what would you do? being patient and waiting for buyers or just sell to "cash for car"?

A) Take the car to an independent used car dealer (a new car dealer will not be interested in a car that old) or to Carmax. They will give you a purchase offer based on the condition of the vehicle. This will be wholesale price. Without seeing the car to be sure, I would say that it should be in the $2000-$2500 range. If that is what it is worth wholesale, add $1000- $1400 to that and get an asking price that is reasonable!! This will give a basis for pricing your car if you decide to sell it yourself (retail). To get the most money for a vehicle, have any repairs, and state inspections done. You may want to consider having the vehicle professionally detailed. I would put a picture ad in the Autotrader magazine, and on Autotrader.com. to get the best results.

Where can I find a toyota celica headlight assy?

Q) I bought my '02 Toyota Celica GT used in 2004. Almost immediately after I drove it off the lot, the drivers side headlight dropped. It had been glued back on!! I dealt with this eyesore for over 2 years. Then I was in an accident. The truck shattered the bad headlight. His insurance company paid to fix my car. Finally, two normal headlights!! But the bodyshop that fixed my car, must have cracked the seal on the other headlight. Or perhaps the accident cracked the seal, but they didn't catch it. I noticed the moisture in my passenger side headlight assy, and called the body shop. They told me it was probably there before the accident, i just never noticed it. EXCUSE ME?! I looked at my uneven headlights every time i got in and out of my car, I know there was no moisture. But long story short, I couldn't find a drivers side headlight assy for the two years I looked, any chance I'll find a passenger side assy used?? They are not cheap straight from Toyota! THANKS!

A) Moisture inside of the newer "composite" style headlamps is not unusual... most manufacturers usually advise to turn on the lamps for a few moments and the moisture will dissipate... These lamps are "vented" and can collect moisture from the atmosphere... Unfotunately, over a period of time the lamp becomes dirty or "dull" inside and therefore will look terrible alongside of the new one that your body shop installed and there is no practical way to clean the inside... For a new lamp there are probably "aftermarket" units available, ie: not made by Toyota but from another source. Check with any good body shop and they can check for you. Odds of finding a good used lamp for this model are pretty slim
